Artists have a unique ability to bring people together, provoke change, and even heal communities in important ways. Transracial Journeys, a non-profit that supports children and parents in families with transracially adopted children and works to promote racial justice, invites young artists to share their artistic visions to help drive social change in its first annual art contest.

What:

Create a two-dimensional piece of art responding to the theme of Diversity, Race, and Social Justice in America. Art work may approach the theme from a historical, biographical, personal, or abstract perspective, and may draw on subject matter of historical, political, literary, or contemporary significance.

Judging:

A panel of 3 judges will rate each submission for creativity, interpretation of the theme, as well as artistic and creative merit.

Winners will be announced at the Transracial Journeys Benefit Auction on March 11, 2017. Prizes will be mailed within 3 weeks of the award announcements.

Other Information:

All submitted art work will become property of Transracial Journeys and will be considered as a donation to our fundraising auction. By submitting your art, you confirm that you understand that your art becomes the property of Transracial Journeys, and, whether a winning entry or not, it may be used by Transracial Journeys, in whole or in part, royalty free, in any printed or electronic media and in promotional materials, including fundraising and online publications.
